Roger Guerin Art Deco pitcher, Belgian art pottery c1930
A Roger Guerin Art Deco pitcher in a fat gourd shape with a wide pouring spout.
Hand turned in stoneware pottery, it is decorated in shades of blue, grey and brown with raised deep blue drips all around the body.
A really fine piece of Bouffioulx art pottery. It stamped, signed and numbered on the base.

About Roger Guérin
Belgian art ceramist, Guérin (1896-1954 ) specialised in experimental salt glaze techniques at the height of the Art Deco era. His work won a medal at the Paris Exposition des Arts Décoratifs in 1925, and was shown internationally. Guérin pottery was produced in short runs. Each piece is numbered and unique.
