Rethondes Degué Art Deco light fixture with gilt bronze mount
A superb Art Deco light with pâte-de-verre shade, unsigned but likely to be by Rethondes (Degué) or Darboys, c1930.
The shade is marbled white with swirls of pink and orange colour in the glass – an attractive alternative to the usual dark ‘sunset’ coloured shades of the period, which can be a little sombre.
The ornate mount and chain are in gilt bronze with an ornate ceiling canopy.
Diameter of shade 13½ inches / 35cm, 4 ½ inches / 12 deep
Height 30 inches / 75cm.
Rewired. In very good condition. Some slight traces of age on the metal and glass.
