Pair of Clio Art Deco enamelled glass vases, miniature, c1925
A pair of Clio Art Deco enamelled glass vases, French, c1925.
These rare little vases measure just 6.5″ high. They are beautifully painted with a landscape that unfolds around the body of the vase. The upper and lower part of each vase is decorated with floral details in hot enamel blues and reds. Stunning work, very reminiscent of Leune and some Delatte glass.
Both vases are signed near the base. Clio is recognised as a studio in 1920s France. We know it from of a number of examples of stunning Art Deco enamel work, reminiscent of Leune and Delatte. Little so far has come to light about the studio.
