Jean-Marie Maure French Art Deco glazed stoneware pitcher
A large Jean-Marie Maure glazed stoneware pitcher, made in the Puisaye region of France around 1930.
This large jug has a matte brown glaze with a very attractive drip enamel treatment around the collar in shades of grey and pink, typical of this manufacturer. The sober, tapered form is offset by the shapely handle. Signed on the base. The factory was in business from 1926 to around 1939.
