Gilbert Métenier round drip glaze stoneware vases
A duo of Gilbert Métenier stoneware vases from around 1930.
The large vase is round with flattened sides and is signed Méténier on the base.
The second vase is torpedo-shaped with slightly contoured sides. It’s unsigned but undoubtedly from the same maker. Both have a superb controlled drip glaze in semi-matte brown over pink.
Moon-shaped vase : Height 8.25 inches / 21cm, Width 7 inches /18cm
Narrow vase : Height 7.5 inches / 19cm, Width 2.5 inches, 6.5cm
