Flemish Art Nouveau pottery vases
Set of 2 Flemish pottery vases, likely made at Leo Maes’ pottery, Torhout Belgium around 1890-1900.
They are typical of Flemish earthenware pottery made at the end of the 19th century: interesting art nouveau shapes, mossy glazes with drips and soft colours that blend into each other.
The large vase has a grooved neck and 3 twisted handles. The smaller vase has dimpled sides and a square opening.
Large vase height 10.25 inches / 26cm
Small vase height 6.5 inches /16cm
Together they weigh 1.8kg.
In good condition. Some nibbles around the inside of the neck of the tall vase.
