Fives Lille Art Nouveau vase in copper electroplated faience
French Fives Lille Art Nouveau vase in copper plated faience, decorated with a bees and honeycomb motif in relief. It has a cobalt blue underglaze, seen on the inside of the vase.
This is a very rare variation on a distinctive design from around 1890, made at the famous Fives Lille factory founded by Gustave de Bruyn (1838-1916).
Very few of the factory’s designs were produced in this striking copper plated finish.
The Gustave de Bruyn Fives Lille trademark is on the base of the vase.
