De Vez art deco cameo glass vase
A De Vez cameo glass vase featuring a mountain lake scene with overhanging roses. From the Art Nouveau period, 1907-1910.
Acid-etched and hand-cut, it is signed De Vez, the signature used by Charles Camille Trutié de Varreux (1872-1942).
This Art Deco glass artist married into the Monod family, founders of Cristallerie de Pantin, and became the factory’s artistic director in 1907.
This is a delightful little vase. It has typically attractive colours and a landscape we imagine inspired by Trutié de Varreux’s birthplace, Chambéry.
