Bernardaud modernist coffee service by Raymond Loewy
A Bernardaud coffee service for six, designed by Raymond Loewy (1893-1986) for Bernardaud porcelain, Limoges, in 1967.
This is the Ariès shape, which retailed under the name Vivaldi. It’s in white porcelain decorated with silver bands and highlights.
The use of pure white to accentuate the very modern geometric shape was revolutionary for Limoges porcelain at that time.
The set comprises six coffee cans and saucers, coffee pot, creamer and lidded sugar bowl.
