Baccarat Art Deco bonbonniere or biscuit jar with macassar ebony lid
Baccarat Art Deco bonbonniere or biscuit barrel in massive crystal with a solid macassar wood lid, French, 1930s.
The crystal is over 1cm thick with a beautiful chime when tapped. It is signed under the base with Baccarat’s engraved trademark.
With its sharp cut grooves and prism reflections, this elegant object was made around the time of the 1937 Paris Universal Exhibition, when the famous French cristallerie turned to uncluttered modernist designs.
