Art Deco green lion by Saint Clément France
Imposing Art Deco green lion made by Saint Clement, France around 1930, 1940.
The power and movement of the lion are perfectly rendered in the figure. We’re confident attributing it to Saint Clément, and though unsigned, is perfectly typical .
The all-over glossy green glaze was popular in late Art Deco pieces.
It’s a big beast at 18 inches / 45cm long and 7.25 inches / 18cm high.
Highly decorative and in very good condition. Note a minuscule graze on a front paw and a tiny glaze pucker on the back.
