Antique truffle jar in green blown glass, 18th century
Superb antique truffle jar from the 18th century or early 19thc.
This rare pickling jar or bocal was sourced in the Périgord, renowned for its black truffles.
It is in olive green blown glass and features bubbles and swirls a lop-sided mouth and a nice pontil scar under the base.
These ‘imperfections’ are keenly sought after by connoisseurs as they show the artisanal nature of the jars and they are what makes each one is unique.
