Antique glazed stoneware bottle with burnt orange glaze
Beautiful antique glazed stoneware bottle in burnt orange with flecks of sparkling silica and natural scorch marks and drips from when it was fired. Stunning glaze and handsome, tactile shape. 19th century.
We don’t know which region this pottery comes from but it was probably used for storing home made eau-de-vie or brandy. The narrow neck will take a normal sized cork if you want to put it to similar use ; )
