Antique French cruche in salt glazed stoneware
Superb antique French salt glazed cruche or bottle jug for holding oil or keeping water cool from the late 19thc/early 20thc.
This lovely authentic piece of functional French pottery is hand turned with a honey glaze over a warm terracotta base. The dimples, glaze variations and small imperfections are part of its charm and date from when it was made.
It is in excellent condition and all that is missing is the cork (in fact, it came with several decades’ worth, which we have lovingly removed!)
