19thc French bevelled glass reliquary, jewellery box
Antique 19thc French bevelled glass reliquary or jewel box with intaglio engraving and gilt mount. Inside, a silk upholstered cushion in aquamarine silk. The lid and sides are engraved with columbines.

Height 3.2 inches / 8cm
The boxes were popular from the time of Napoleon III through to the 1900s, when they often featured tinted souvenir scenes.
In nice condition – it has one very discreet flake to the side of the lid and some loose threads to the lining.
