Legras agate glass vase with applied gold c1890
A beautiful Legras agate glass vase from around 1890. Legras & Cie produced glass of this kind for the Exposition Universelle de Paris in 1889. It was an immediate success.
It’s in thick glass streaked to resemble marble or agate. Gold inclusions catch the light.It’s decorated with an applied gold motif of flowers and birds.
It has a ground out, polished pontil and is unsigned, which is typical.

Very good condition. Some wear to the gold on the bird’s wing.
