Large Napoleon III glass jewel box with cut glass sides
Large Napoleon III glass jewel box with 8 curved glass sides and transparent lid in gilt metal. Each of the side panels is decorated with a cut circle. The box stands on 3 curved feet and is lined with its original cream upholstery. It’s large enough to hold a necklace, small parure or keepsake. Rare size and shape. Underneath, the box has a touching inscription : “A souvenir with all my affection to my very dear friend, Thérèse, Yours, with gratitude, your little Marie-Louise.”

Very good condition, no chips to the glass, good hinge the silk lining is a little timeworn but clean and intact.
