Antique Provencal confit pot, gargoulette
A large antique French confit pot or gargoulette, half-glazed in yellow ochre with raised drips and green splashes. It has a two handles, a spout and a lid.
Traditional to Provencal, this pot dates from the late 1800s to the early 1900s and was used for carrying water from the well. Sourced in the South West of France, it has seen several generations of use.
In very good condition for its age. There are some chips – at the lid and the base – but nothing significant.
