Antique French sewing set, nécessaire de couture
An antique French sewing set c1900 with 5 pieces in its original velvet-lined box.
It comprises a needle case with needles, a bodkin, a very fine hook, a pair of steel scissors and a thimble.
The needle case, bodkin and hook are all hallmarked silver with the boar’s head hallmark. The thimble and scissors appear to be replacements.
In good overall condition with some signs of age and wear, and in the case of the thimble, ancient sewing battles ; )
