Antique Napoleon III glass jewel box
A delightful antique Napoleon III glass jewel box with 6 curved glass sides and a curved glass lid set in gold metal. Each of the side panels has a little circle hand shaved in the glass. The box stands on 3 curved feet and is lined with its original orange upholstered silk.
These boxes were popular from the time of Napoleon III. Usually they were made of bevelled glass. This one, with its prism effect in shaped, cut glass, is one of the most charming we have come across.

Very good condition, no chips to the glass, good hinge the silk lining is a little threadbare but bright and intact.
