Antique bevelled glass reliquary box
Antique French bevelled glass and pinchbeck reliquary or jewel box with carmine pink silk upholstered lining, 19th century.
These were popular from the time of Napoleon III. This one is in clear glass but later boxes showing well known French monuments on the lid were sold as souvenirs to Victorians on the Grand Tour.
Measures 3 inches x 2.25 inches / 7.5cm x 5.5cm
Very good condition, no chips to the glass, the silk lining is bright and intact.
