Antique bevelled glass jewel box
Antique French bevelled glass and pinchbeck reliquary or jewel box with deep pink silk upholstered lining from the mid to late 19th century.
These were popular from the time of Napoleon III. This one is in clear glass but later boxes showing well known French monuments on the lid were sold as souvenirs to Victorians on the Grand Tour. At 3 inches / 8cm square, it will hold keepsakes or favourite items of jewellery. Jewellery not included ; )
Very good condition, no chips to the glass, the upholstery bright and intact.
