19thc French agate brooch
A lovely 19thc French agate brooch in brass, set with a large oval glass agate.
The ‘agate’ is brown with milky swirls and a pattern in fine relief. It has the simplest of brass settings and a simple ‘C’ clasp, a brooch made to set off a lace collar in the 1880s or 90s.
It measures 1.75 x 1.25 inches / 4.2cm x 3cm
