An elegant antique French table lamp base in flambé glaze faience pottery, mounted on a gilt bronze base.
The glaze is perfectly controlled and in, we think, rather gentlemanly colours: a speckled teal green and oxblood.
Maker unknown but possibly the Choisy-le-Roi faiencerie. Dates from the early 20th century.
Takes a standard bayonet light bulb.
Lamp shade not included.
Height 7 inches / 18cm
Excellent condition and without defects.
This striking mid century plate was made by the Vallauris art pottery Atelier Cerenne around 1950.
It’s brilliantly enamelled with a scene of a medieval hunt: a galloping horseman and his snuffling dog.
10 inches diameter
Signed on reverse : Cerenne Vallauris “La Chasse” (The Hunt).
Atelier Cerenne was the art pottery of Charles René Neveux. It was active from 1945 until 1958, the years when Vallauris flourished as a centre of art pottery under the influence Picasso and Roger Capron in Vallauris.
