This is a wonderful antique French copper daubiere dating from the 19th century.
The copper is hammered and has old-fashioned dovetail seams, a technique that requires great skill and a great deal of time.
The three handles are iron with copper rivets.
The inside is brushed with tin and is well preserved and cared for.
Like all daubieres, it has a perfectly snug-fitting lid which still seals the pot hermetically for slow stewing.
Beautifully proportioned, it’s a rare find.
It measures 8 inches by 6 3/4 inches and is 6 inches high.
This is a fine 20th century statuette of a hunting dog in bronze with silvered patina.
It’s extremely well crafted. The subject is beautifully observed and lifelike, perfectly capturing the dog’s posture as it holds the bird.
