A fantastic mid century Italian enamel lava glaze ceramic bottle vase … only Italy could have produced such a piece of pottery fantasy!
Very tall, with a great shape and decor, it’s from the 1950s or early 1960s, and was probably San Marino pottery.
It has three sides. One side is decorated with a vibrant sgraffito enamel scene of Venice. The rest of the vase has a very thick, very tactile ‘lava’ glaze.
Signed ‘Made in Italy’ on the base.
