Here’s a pair of Art Deco miniature vases by Métenier.
Gilbert Métenier took over his father’s art pottery and worked from 1907 to around 1940. He was highly reputed for his shapely stoneware and experimental glazes, influenced by the Arts and Crafts Movement.
These two little vases show his craft in miniature. The smaller of the two has a green/blue glaze with bold ochre drips.
They measure 12cm and 13 cm high.
In perfect condition.
