Jean de Lespinasse was an art potter who worked out of an studio on the Côte d’Azure, France. After serving in the French resistance, he turned to pottery in the late ’40s, when he rubbed shoulders with the likes of Roger Capron. His work is increasingly sought-after for its skilful enamelling, vibrant colours and a distinctive, personal style that was very much in tune with the new mid century aesthetic.
