Arlus mid century toleware and opal glass light
An Arlus (attrib.) mid century toleware light in a modernist lantern shape.
Toleware lanterns were popularised by the designer Jacques Biny and the long brass spike was a stylish feature of maison Arlus ceiling lights in the 1960s.
It’s currently wired for Europe with a bayonet bulb socket but would be easy to replace with modern wiring and bulb holder.
Height 12½ inches + 5 ½ inch chain with ceiling cone and hook.
