Antique French stoneware wine pitcher, toule, Burgundy, 19th century
An antique French stoneware pitcher or toule, made to hold oil or more probably wine, 19th century.
Made in St-Amand-en Puisaye in Burgundy. It has a traditional shape with rope-grooves around the sides, small spout and handles, in this case, with the rope attached. A lovely example, complete with enamel drips and colour variations.
