Belle Époque gilt bronze 3 branch chandelier
This is a splendid French 3 arm gilt bronze chandelier dating from around 1900.
Lights like this were typical of bourgeois houses and hotels in France around the turn of the century, and if you look out, you still see them in black and white films and period dramas recreating the style of the day. We think it would look great in a hallway with a high ceiling.
It has ornate casting and rather nice textured arms (see detail). The mount has worn to a warm patina with age, with much of the gilt is still present. The classic tulips are in frosted glass with a cool green edge. They’re held in place with three brass screws.
The light takes 3 bayonet fitting bulbs. The ceiling canopy hides a strong hook for suspending the light.
