1920s lariat necklace in the style of Max Neiger – bakelite – c1920
A rare 1920s flapper lariat necklace in the style of Max Neiger.
In early plastic, probably French. The large green beads are made of bakelite, some hand etched with poker work. The small face beads are made of bakelite. The beads are individually knotted in green silk and there is a green silk tassel at the bottom of the necklace. Quite a striking piece from the Jazz Age.
The necklace has a drop of 25 inches / 64cm.
The largest beads are 1.5 inches / 4cm long.
In very good condition . The only wear is to the silk tassel, which is faded and discoloured – you might wish to replace it.
