Striking mid century pottery wall plaque by le Cyclope art pottery, Annecy, France.
Dates from the 1950s/60s.
The Cyclopes pottery is best known for making chunky lava pottery tableware, which they produced in large quantities.
Early art pottery wall plaques like these are far scarcer and well executed. The dancers are in glossy raised enamel against a grey and green lava background. Lovely subject.
The plaque is loosely teardrop shaped and the lip is gently upturned near the top. Signed on the reverse. Hanging loop ready to hang.
